Stanislaus National Forest near Groveland CA - Turn right off of Evergreen road and on to an old forest service road. Check the satellite view and you can see the road in easily. You'll need decent ground clearance and 4WD. My F150 did just fine. Lots of downed trees but nothing you can't get passed. You'll be rewarded with a beautiful large meadow with solid, level, firm ground. Excellent spot to set up camp right outside of Yosemite.
