Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near Bridgeport CA - Plenty of Forest land dispersed camping. Also a hot spring. Drive four miles off 395 down a dirt road that ends at Buckeye hot springs. Tons of camp sites and fire rings. Fires are usually illegal in California after mid June.
