North Of Pistol River near Gold Beach OR - A large pull off/parking area just off Hwy 101 used occasionally by RVs and beach-goers. This area is separated from a broad, sandy beach by low, grass-covered dunes but open to views of the surf as well as monument-sized rocks and seamounts. Trails lead to the beach. Access points are at both ends of the lot but the south access is broad and more gently sloped than the north entrance. Enter the north end and exit the south access point to avoid spinning wheels and rough pavement edges upon returning to Hwy 101. This also allows parking parallel to the beach for great views.
