Tent Or Small RV/Scamp in Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near Gardnerville NV - Plenty of free dispersed camping spots. No services, but (Verizon) cell service worked fine for us on 7/28/2020. The spot farthest west at the top of a hill was perfect and secluded, but open as well. No place for hammock. Found firewood all around. Plenty of starlight. Travel in from the main road and stay to the right at the first fork, then right again at the next fork. Exact roads taken after that, not sure! :) Many great spots on the series of dirt roads off the 395. 4WD not required, but maybe be helpful if choosing some of the rockier roads.
