Caribou-Targhee National Forest

Franklin Basin Road is a developed forest service road. Dispersed opportunities are abundant however there is a “dead zone “ with the first 3 miles being loaded then picking up again around 7 miles in. Lots of motorized vehicles but plenty of sites set off the road. Great spots for 5th wheels and hardcore overlanders alike. River gets dry higher up/later in the summer ( dry 8 miles in beginning of Aug). Cows, sheep, coyotes, etc. Cell coverage around mile 9. Pretty beautiful area. Trail system isn’t marked well so bring topos.

Level of confidence the site is free: Certain - Confirmed with a sign or by owner / agency / website.
Toilets nearby: None
4X4 or high clearance required: No
Cell service available: No
Park pass or permit required: No
Showers nearby: No
Potable water nearby: No
Type of property: USFS (US Forest Service)
