There are several pull off spots all along national NF-25 road about 20 minutes south of Grants pass off of US-199 (Redwood Hwy). The road is well maintained gravel and my non-4x4 van had no trouble at all, but the further you go there are a lot of side roads you’ll want to avoid without 4x4. We stayed 11/28/17 and it was clear but I’d probably call the rangers office if snow is forecasted to see about road conditions. We seen a few cars pass by but otherwise very quiet and felt safe, seen one ranger pass by but did not stop. Dispersed camping, small trailers and RVs are allowed for 14 consecutive days before moving at least 25 miles. This is a good alternative to the no overnights at the Walmart in Grants pass if you need a place to park.

If your interested in more information contact the Illinois Valley rangers office located in Cave Junction at (541)-592-4000.
