A very nice area approximately a quarter mile north of the Lost Dutchmen State Park at the base of the Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction Arizona. (Approximately 60 miles South of Phoenix) A terrific place for those with their own horses as there are plenty of riders in the area. Terrific desert and mountain views with lots of casual rolling hills and beautiful saguaro cactus everywhere. Fantastic weather from November through April but it can get rainy at times. Note that it starts to get hot in May and is usually 90-120 degrees between June and October. R.V. and tent camping is FREE and there are approximately 15-20 spots here. Fires in rock rings are okay unless otherwise stated by the U.S. Forest Service. This is an awesome place to get away for a night or two and listen to coyotes and hoot owls. The cool fresh breeze in your face will do you some good. Happy camping!

July 2022: FREE CAMPING: Excellant views, well watched by the rangers and the AJ police. Which is nice. Beautiful location. No amenities, pack it in pack it out,
but is a nice area. 14 day stay limit. Apache Junction just a few miles down the road, for your shopping and gas needs. Walmart and harbor freight are just a short distance away. you can buy water at Frys outside for .20 cents per gallon. very good water.
