Free public beach, next to Surfside Beach. You can tent & RV camp here for up to 14 days, no permit required. There are several beach access roads to take, which we chose the beach access road #3. Several miles of beach for plenty of campers to spread out. Be sure to ALWAYS check the tides, we use iOS Tide Alert app (free). Occasionally high tides can come up to the dunes & grass line, where campers camp, so don’t get swept away in the middle of the night! The closest town with supplies is Surfside where you’ll find gas, food, water, & a few shops & restaurants. Freeport is across the big bridge with a Dollar Store & more choices. BRING LOTS OF BUG SPRAY! Mosquitos, even in December are insane! There’s good fishing & crabbing here too.
